Yes, this house is rather big, not all are that huge. My housemate has relatives in Japan and in Bangkok. So certainly above average. But this is the house I know best, and they allowed me to publish.
Some houses even have solid walls, but they are a minority.

weiterhin alles liebe

Very interesting discription of the house. It's quite similar to indian houses, but much more "rich". In Thailand you have tiles, in India you have only clay or pressed earth on the floor and walls in rural areas.
I also know the 2 different styles of toilets and find the graphic as funny as in India too.
Anothere similarity seems also that I cannot see any toilet paper but water buckets. So I presume that one also have to use hand and water like in many asian countries. I've got very quick used to that methode and found it much more hygienic than our western style with paper. I kept on using western and after hanging to asian style additionally.
Therefore Indians only eat with the right hand itself - no cuttlery -, which you will notice while in India
For "poor" circumstances my opinion is, that the houses are really huge... and kind of luxurious. Wonderful idea a show-place outside.

Hugs + kiss
Jana
Looking forward to communicate over Skype with you again when you're in India!!!
